Kurzbeschreibung
Relationships between light and shadows significantly characterize the design of a room, and they determine its particular atmosphere. Many and various techniques of illumination can emphasize certain spatial elements, while allowing others to remain in the dark. The modelling of space is therefore possible through light in all of its available forms: light penetrating from the ceiling, light through stained-glass windows, from narrow slots in the wall, daylight or electric light. Light thereby represents an essential medium of architectural design which creates the conditions we require for the interaction among man, light, space and material. In essence, these annuals of light are dedicated to the art of illumination and they cover either exemplary international projects or the work of a specific light designing company.
