<br>Eigentlich war/bin ich mit imovie09 ganz glücklich, da man mit wenig Aufwand schnell sehr gute Ergebnisse erzielen kann. Sobald man aber bspw. die Lautstärke einer Audiospur bzw. eines Tracks im Verlauf ändern will oder doch mehr Editiermöglichkeiten benötigt, kommt man mit imovie nicht weiter. Der nächste Schritt ist also Final Cut Express...

<br />Wenn man keine Erfahrung mit Final Cut hat, ist der Umstieg allerdings erstmal ziemlich ernüchternd: mit imovie kommt man ziemlich schnell zurecht und erlernt sehr intuitiv die Funktionen innerhalb kürzester Zeit. Bei FCE bedarf es erstmal einer längeren Lern- und Einarbeitungsphase. Bspw. wusste ich nicht, dass FCE sich bei Anwendung eines Überganges nicht automatisch das "Blendfleisch" vom Ende bzw. Anfang der Spots "holt". In anderen Worten: stimmen In- und Outpunkt mit dem Clipanfang bzw. -ende überein, ist der Übergang erst dann anwendbar, wenn man diese Punkte entsprechend versetzt, so dass "Übergangsmaterial" vorhanden ist... (imovie knappst sich dieses Fleisch automatisch von den beiden betreffenden Spots ab - das macht FCE nicht). Keyframing, Pan & Scan oder Audiosteuerung ist intuitiv eher schwierig. Eine große Lernhilfe war bei mir youtube und fcptips.com. Wenn man die Funktionen aber erstmal verstanden hat, ist das Programm schon sehr gut, weil man so ziemlich alles machen kann (aber eben auch bei den einfachsten Dingen immerwieder einstellen muss). Großer Kritikpunkt wäre noch das Thema DVD Export. Wie bei imovie gelingt es mir nicht, ordentliche Ergebnisse auf DVD hinzubekommen. Bis zum eigentlichen erstellen/brennen der DVD ist die Bildqualität super (auch noch in iDVD)- die Bildqualität auf der DVD ist dann aber misserabel (mir ist klar, dass SD gegenüber HD schlechter ist - aber die Ergebnisse von iDVD schlägt selbst jedes youtube Video). Habe schon alle Einstellungsmöglichkeiten durchpobiert und keine befriedigende Lösung gefunden (Problem wird auch in diversen Foren thematisiert - allerdings hab ich auch da noch keine Lösung gefunden). Auch wenn es vielleicht ein Bedien- bzw. Einstellungsfehler sein sollte, kann ich doch von einem Videoschnitt-Programm dieser Preisklasse erwarten, dass es diese Standardfunktion (Film auf DVD brennen) ohne großen Aufwand beherrscht. Zumal die Signalqualität bereits ab Kamera (Sony HDR 520 mit 1080p) sehr gut ist.

<br>Auch wenn das Produkt schon länger auf dem Markt ist, es ist und bleibt eine kostengünstige Alternative zu den Pro Produkten - wenn man mehr machen möchte als nur Clips aneinanderzureihen und Musik zu unterlegen.

<br />Ich kann die geringen Bewertungspunkte, die einige hier vergeben, nicht wirklich verstehen.
<br />
<br />Es gibt - wenn auch leider (noch) nicht auf Deutsch - einige gute Bücher über FCE, unter anderem Final Cut Express 4 Editing Workshop von Tom Wolsky, dass ich selbst gekauft habe und seitdem mit FCE sehr zufrieden bin.
<br />
<br />Irgendwo wurde bereits erwähnt, dass es sich hier um ein semiprofessionelles Produkt handelt (FCE 4 ist die abgespeckte Version von FCP 6). Als Ein- oder Umsteiger wird es, und da spreche ich aus eigener Erfahrung, ohne
<br />entsprechende Anleitung oder Literatur nur sehr schwer möglich sein, brauchbare Ergebnisse zu erzielen

<br />Da sich einige beschwert haben, dass trotz toller CPU und sonstiger Hardware die AVCHD Clips der HD-Camcorder nicht flüssig bearbeitbar sind:
<br /> - AVCHD ist kein Schnittcodec, sondern für fertige Videos gedacht
<br /> - Die AVCHD Clips in FCE mittels "Log & Transfer" direkt vom Camcorder (via USB oder FireWire) importieren
<br /> - dabei werden die stark komprimierten AVCHD Clips in einen Intermediate Codec der entsprechenden Auflösung gewandelt
<br /> - jetzt kann man - wie ich auf meinem "kleinem" 2,2GHz MacBook - auch Full HD Videos flüssig schneiden
<br /> - Sobald das Video fertig ist, kann es dann wieder mit H.264 als QuickTime Film exportiert werden

<br />Fazit: FCE ist sein Geld Wert.</p>

<br>Nach einigen Jahren der Schneiderei mit Feld-, Wald- und Wiesenprogrammen auf dem PC habe ich mir endlich einen Mac geleistet und gleich dazu dieses Schnittprogramm. Es wurde im Laufe der letzten beiden Jahre mehr und mehr eine Offenbarung, was im heimischen Videoschnitt alles gehen kann, wenn die Software flexibel genug ist. Man merkt in der Tat, dass dieses Produkt die abgespeckte Version von einem Profi-Programm ist. Nach der Einarbeitung stehen nicht mehr die begrenzten Möglichkeiten der Software im Mittelpunkt der Arbeit am Schnittplatz, sondern die Idee und ihre Umsetzung. Irgendwie geht es schon - so soll es sein.
<br />
<br />In der Tat ist das Konzept nicht Consumer-orientiert und wer einfach nur schnell los schneiden will, ist mit iMovie besser bedient. Denn Final Cut erfordert, wenn man keine Erfahrung mit semiprofessionellen Produkten hat, eine gute Portion Einarbeitung. Wer aber darauf aus ist, die Möglichkeiten des Videoschnitts intensiver zu erforschen, soll sich mit weniger nicht zufrieden geben. Nun wäre es eigentlich an der Zeit für Final Cut Pro - wenn mal jemand 1.000 Euronen rüber wirft.</p>
